Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, ginger, and garlic. Whisk constantly for 3–5 minutes until the mixture bubbles and reduces into a thick, syrupy consistency. Stir in the sesame oil at the end and remove from heat.
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper. Heat neutral oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Place salmon skin-side up and sear for 3–4 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms.
- Flip the fillets and generously brush the top of each piece with the reduced soy glaze.
- To finish, either transfer the skillet to a 400°F (200°C) oven for 4–6 minutes, or continue cooking on the stovetop, spooning the glaze over the fish every minute until sticky and the salmon flakes easily.
