Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat neutral oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  3. Place salmon skin-side down, pressing firmly for 10 seconds to ensure maximum contact. Sear for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy and mahogany-colored.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, Sriracha, lemon juice, grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Flip the fillets, immediately pour the glaze into the pan, and brush the tops of the fish with the remaining glaze.
  6. Transfer the skillet to a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven and bake for 5-8 minutes until the sauce reduces into a thick syrup.
